At the Citizens Information & Advice Bureau, our mission is to empower individuals, families, and local businesses across Blackpool and the surrounding areas by providing free, impartial, and compassionate support that improves lives and strengthens our community.

We exist to ensure that every person—regardless of age, background, or circumstance—has access to the advice, resources, and representation they need to navigate life’s challenges and make informed choices. Whether it's accessing benefits, reducing household costs, understanding disability entitlements, seeking mental health or carers’ support, starting or growing a business, building a website, or claiming educational grants, we are here to help—face to face, without judgment, and without charge.

Our walk-in centre is open to all—no appointment needed—offering a warm welcome and practical, plain-speaking help on the spot. We offer free 15-minute assessments to understand each person’s situation and ensure they get the right support, signposting them to trusted services, grant schemes, or specialist organisations when needed.

Through our digital tools, outreach work, and one-to-one assistance, we aim to remove barriers and bring life-changing advice and information into the heart of the local community—ensuring no one is left behind.
