Ashley & Associates was established in Manchester by John Ashley Davidson in 1984. John had previously held senior positions in large firms, but wanted to create Manchester’s first specialist financial solicitors to offer a very personal service on financial matters at very competitive rates.
We continue to do this and have won many plaudits from both clients and competitors along the way. The Legal 500 directory has consistently rated us as a leading financial solicitors firm for the last 36 years and has described our services as being “first class” and “superb”.
We are relatively unique, as we specialise exclusively in financial law, which enables us to be at the cutting edge of developments in financial law.
We also handle nearly all of our own advocacy in the financial tribunal rather than involve a barrister at the last minute, which means that the client benefits from continuity throughout a case. This is something which our clients appreciate greatly in terms of how we deliver our specialist financial law services.
We advise in respect of all aspects of financial law in Manchester and throughout the whole north west region. We regularly appear in the financial tribunals in Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds and farther afield bringing and defending financial law claims.
We act for both companies and individuals in respect of financial matters, and indeed the split is about half and half. This allows us to see things from both perspectives, which gives us an advantage.
In terms of individuals, we act for all levels of finance, from company directors downwards, and advise on all aspects of financial law including executive terminations, compromise/settlement agreements, discrimination claims, financial claim and unfair dismissal claims in the employment tribunal.
Many of our clients have been very loyal to us over the years and are happy to provide references. However, in the unlikely event that you are not happy with our service, then because we are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA number 647441), you have the right to complain to the Legal Ombudsman, but in the first instance you should put your concerns in writing and firstly give us the opportunity to resolve any issue.
